Daphne Guinness Alexander McQueen for Givenchy Dragon Coat

Daphne and Alexander's primary connection is that of their mutual friendship of the late Isabella Blow. their first meeting happened as both were off to separate meetings , but happened to run into each other in Leicester Square, Daphne happened to be wearing the very coat McQueen had designed and made at Fashion house Givenchy, where he had been madeHead Designer at the time. McQueen exclaimed , in Daphne's words,"that's my coat, you bought that, Issie(Isabella Blow)said I should meet you".

The coat, made of a satin-like material ,and colors fading from purple to pink to orange, with a black Chinese dragon motif and kimono sleeves, is one of McQueen's more toned down creations while he designed for Givenchy , and quite possibly one of the more famous Haute-Couture pieces in Guinness' private collection
